Go to the surf club head towards new brighton , there is a tea pea land mark made of drift wood. Perfect to play in the sand dunes behind there.

Take Summit Road to carpark at the top of the Rapaki Track...lots of parking spaces there and very, very quiet most nights. The road ends here so there is very little through traffic.
